We are not in control of our students reinforcers. We need to remember that our students have unique interests and will be motivated by different things (even things we may not think are motivating).One of my students brought this piece of paper into school and wanted to work for it throughout the day. It quickly became evident that they were interested in the logo on the paper. We took that idea and ran with it and taught the student how to read the logo and draw the logo.Quickly drawing logos became the preferred reinforcer, but I never would have know that if I didn't roll with their lead.P.S.
