We love our task boxes in our classroom and I seriously love the holiday season. I’ve been listening to holiday music every day to and from school since we returned from Thanksgiving break. I’m not even kidding about this. So it goes without saying that the task boxes we’re currently rocking in my classroom are definitely full of holiday cheer! Check out these holiday task boxes!
Another classroom favorite is this counting task we regularly use in the classroom. I found some muffin tins at the Dollar Tree a while ago and these have been a great investment for our classroom Work Tasks. We regularly have a counting task in our morning task boxes. I invested in a 3 inch circle cutter and I make some quick circles and write a number on the circles. These pop into the bottom of the muffin tin and students count out the items to match the number in the muffin tins. We love counting Pom Poms year round. A seasonal favorite of ours is counting out bells. Students like to shake them and hear the sound while they are counting.
We also love this combination of sorting and put in task. We get two containers and have cut a hole into the top of the container. Typically, we label what goes into each container. This month I wanted to see if students were able to find ways to sort objects without the labels and they have definitely figured out how to sort without the labels! This is one of my favorite tasks for those Target Dollar Spot erasers that I just have to have!
We also LOVE Teaching Special Thinkers Clothespin Tasks. I have a couple of these tasks for my students to complete during out morning work tasks. They absolutely love putting the decorations on the tree and finding the number matches to go on our piñata.
