I’ll admit, this is not my strong suit. My district sends home SO MUCH PAPERWORK at the beginning of the year that I feel if I were to send something home it probably won’t be read. With that being said, there are a few things I do send home at the beginning of the year because they’re important to my program. These are the things I find important to send home immediately:
- Welcome Letter/Meet the Teacher
- Bathroom Clothing Request
- Reinforcement Survey
I have drafted a quick letter to send to the student’s families. Take a peek!
This is the first year that all of my students will be potty trained (woot, woot!), but we are still young learners and accidents happen. I found this AMAZING resource (in English and Spanish) on TeachersPayTeachers. I send it home in my beginning of the year pack.
I also send home a reinforcement survey. This is the most important form I send home. I like to ask parents what it is their child likes. I need to know what my students are going to work for this year. Sometimes student’s like obscure things that I never would have guessed. So I send home this reinforcement survey (I revamped it a little this year) and keep it in my student files. If we have behaviors pop up, I will pull out the reinforcement survey to see if there is a reinforcer we haven’t tried before. Click on the image for a copy!
These are the forms I send home immediately as school starts. After Back To School Night I send home a class supply wish list and a parent volunteer questionnaire. What do you send home?
